There are lots of things to see and do for younger visitors and families this October half term at Avebury.

Nature Spotter Trail:

Head to Avebury Manor Garden for some fresh air and glorious Autumn colour, with a family-friendly nature-spotter trail to follow. Children can also borrow an explorer backpack, which include binoculars to help spot the bugs, butterflies, and plants. No need to book. Normal garden admission prices apply, but entry is free for National Trust members.

Family Guided Tours:

Learn about the world's largest pre-historic stone circle on a guided tour of Avebury stone circle and henge especially for families. Family tours are on Sunday 26th, Wednesday 29th and Sunday 2nd October at 11:30 am and 1:30 pm. £3 per child, accompanying adult free. Tickets are available on the day from visitor reception in the barn.

Download the Mixed Reality Game:

Explore Avebury in a new way with a downloadable, mixed reality game. 'Ages of Avebury' offers the chance to connect with Avebury's ancient landscape and rich history, opening up different perspectives and revealing hidden stories. The game is free to download from the Apple app store or Google play store.

Activities in the Barn:

When you're ready to come indoors, head to the barn for children's arts, crafts and colouring sheets. You can also see an augmented reality version of a complete stone circle and build your own miniature version of the late Neolithic West Kennet palisades, which once stood in the valley of the River Kennet.
